Program Description: The Radiologic Technology Associate Degree Program provides a sequence of courses that prepare students for positions in radiologic departments and related businesses and industries. Learning opportunities develop academic, technical, and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes a combination of didactic and clinical instruction necessary for successful employment. Program graduates receive an Associate of Applied Science degree in Radiologic Technology, have the qualifications of a radiographer, and are eligible to sit for a national certification examination for radiographers. The Radiologic Technology Program currently has a 5-year accreditation award granted by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). This award is scheduled for renewal fall of 2023. The contact information for the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology is 20 N. Wacker Drive, Suite 2850, Chicago, IL 60606-3182, 312-704-5300, www.jrcert.org.
Clinical Requirements: Once accepted into the Radiography Program, please note the following will be required to complete all clinical courses:
- Background Check and Drug screening
- Travel to assigned clinical sites for day or evening rotations.

Employment Opportunities: The current need and an anticipated rise in the number of radiographers needed in local hospitals, clinics, and medical/surgical offices have had a positive impact on entry-level salaries in the Augusta Technical College service area. Graduates of the program are eligible to complete additional training in related areas beyond the associate degree at other educational institutions if desired.
Credentialing (Required for employment): Program graduates achieve complete the qualifications of a radiographer and are eligible to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART) Radiologic Technologist -Radiography RT (R) (AART) examination.
