NUET 1256 RADIATION PROTECTION AND INSTRUMENTATION

This course covers basic radiation protection concepts including radiation effects on humans, radiation dose units, and radiation sources. It also includes a description of various detectors used and both internal and external dose calculations. Radiation protection operations is also covered in terms of shielding design, radioactive package transport, monitoring and calibration, decommissioning of nuclear facilities, and emergency response to accidents.
