Program Description: The Nuclear Engineering Technology (NET) Program is an innovative approach to addressing the nuclear industry's increasing need for a well-trained nuclear workforce. The program is a planned sequence of courses that meets the defined educational requirements identified by the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) in ACAD 08-006 April 2011, “Uniform Curriculum Guide for Power Plant Technician, Maintenance, and Non-licensed Operations Personnel Associate Degree Programs”. The Nuclear Uniform Curriculum Program is administered by the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) and is designed to promote and standardize associate degree nuclear training programs across the nation. The associate degree program prepares prospective nuclear workers at the technician, maintenance, and non-licensed operator level.
Employment Opportunities: Graduates of the program are able to gain employment in the commercial and DOE nuclear industry sector as electrical and mechanical maintenance technicians, instrumentation and control technicians, and non-licensed operators.
