Horticulture, Associate of Applied Science Degree

Offered at the Augusta Campus and the Columbia County Site.

Entrance Dates: Fall, Spring, and Summer
Length of Program: Six Terms
Credit Hours Required for Graduation: 60

Program Description: The Horticulture program is a sequence of courses that prepares students for careers in horticulture. The program provides learning opportunities which introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and technical knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. Additionally, the program provides opportunities to retrain or upgrade present knowledge and skills. Graduates of the program receive an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Horticulture with a specialization in either General Horticulture Specialization or Landscape Specialization.

Employment Opportunities: A graduate of this program may expect to find career opportunities as a first-line supervisor or manager in the landscape industry as well as nursery, greenhouse, and garden center operations and sales or a small business owner in one or more of these areas.
