Program Description: The Networking Specialist program provides students with hands on and technical training in the concepts, principles, and techniques required to successfully design, implement and automate computer networks. The student will study the elements of Cisco, Microsoft, virtualization, cloud computing, programming, automation, and associated technologies necessary to create these networks. The successful student will be qualified to join a networking team as a productive entry level specialist. High school graduation or GED is required for admission to this program.
Employment Opportunities: Networking Specialist Program graduates are in high demand by businesses with planned or existing networked computer infrastructures. Additional demand is created by the training our graduates have in specialized networking and server skills, hardware maintenance, virtualization, cloud-based systems, and networking automation. Bureau of Labor statistics indicate that computer networking skills will be in high demand in the foreseeable future.
Credentialing (Optional): Completion of this degree provides training to sit for the following examinations to enhance employability— A+ (Comp TIA); Security+ (Comp TIA); Network+ (Comp TIA); Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud; CCNA (Cisco Systems Inc.); CCNA DevNet certifications.
