Spring Semester 2024 Catalog

Computer Engineering Technology, Technical Certificate of Credit

Overview

Offered at the Augusta campus

Entrance Dates: Fall
Length of Program: Three Terms
Credit Hours Required for Graduation: 17

Program Description: The Computer Engineering Technology certificate consists of occupational courses within the computer specialization of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology (ECET) program. This TCC contains advanced courses in networking systems, digital systems, as well as electronic circuits and benefits students who pursue more than one specialization in the ECET program. The TCC is also intended to encourage graduates of the ECET program to return to school to pursue additional specializations and expand their skill-set. Courses in the TCC provide necessary foundations to be employed as a computer technician to support tasks in industrial networking, programming and maintenance of hardware/digital systems.

Employment Opportunities: A computer engineering technician assists engineers to develop and design and maintain hardware and software systems.  They test, repair, and adjust equipment or products and make sure that hardware and software components work efficiently together. Most engineering technicians work closely with engineers & scientists in highly technical environments such as manufacturing plants, federal agencies, utilities, labs, construction sites, or research and development facilities
