Electronics Engineering Technology, Technical Certificate of Credit

Program Description: The Electronics Engineering Technology certificate consists of occupational courses within the electronics specialization of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology (ECET) program. This TCC contains advanced courses in analog electronic circuits, digital systems, as well as networking and benefits students who pursue more than one specialization in the ECET program. The TCC is also intended to encourage graduates of the ECET program to return to school to pursue additional specializations and expand their skill-set. Courses in the TCC emphasize skills for employment as an electronic technician to support industrial and commercial/consumer electronics.

Employment Opportunities: An electronics engineering technician assists engineers to develop and design electrical/electronic equipment in areas such as medical monitoring, communication, navigation, and manufacturing. They test, repair, and adjust equipment or products. . Most engineering technicians work closely with engineers & scientists in highly technical environments such as manufacturing plants, federal agencies, utilities, labs, construction sites, or research and development facilities. Postsecondary education is essential in the field of engineering technology, and there is a constant need for engineering technicians in the local area.
